executable architecture models provides a way to uncover these problems from the beginning. It also allows for the decomposition of existing systems to understand system vulnerabilities. Modeling complex systems also facilitates the use of formal methods for checking correctness and verifying system properties.

This provides methods to analyze existing architectures in new ways. The resulting models may contain many different views that represent various aspects of the system. This includes functional models of sensor components
or architectural aspects of component interactions. Any of these views can capture mathematical representations of the system that can be executed for quantitative analysis of trustworthiness and resulting risk.
