Job Description:

 

Edaptive Computing, Inc. (ECI) is currently seeking a Junior Java Software Engineer. The Edaptive Computing Junior Software Engineer develops and tests Java applications and systems

Dayton, Ohio

 

Type:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and test Java web, desktop, and back-office applications
• Works as a member of project teams to implement designs to meet customer requirements using Agile – SCRUM methodology
• Stay current on trending development technologies and offer ideas for improvement to systems and processes

 

Educational and Experience Requirements:

 

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Computer Science degree or technical training in computer programming
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages
• Some understanding of Java (through coursework or related experience)
• Understanding of how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together in the browser to drive the experience

 

Qualitative Requirements:

• Some knowledge of software engineering best practices and techniques
• Some knowledge of software design patterns and best practices
• Capability to work independently and as a member of a project team
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excitement and eagerness to learn new technology
• Desire to work in an Agile software development environment

 

Enhancing Qualifications:

• HTML/CSS (LESS or SASS)
• JavaScript
• Designing applications for cloud deployments
• Automated/scripted testing platforms
• Test Driven Development
• Eclipse experience (coding, debugging, etc.)
• Knowledge of web services (REST)
• XML and/or JSON familiarity
• Source Control (Git or SVN)
• Linux experience a plus
